SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE OF ROLE:

This role supports the metallurgical characterization and process engineering work for the Beatty District projects.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Selection of samples for metallurgical testing and evaluations. This includes reviews of project data to find representative samples for testing and management of the sample collection and shipping.
• Develop testing programs with third party labs. Manage the testing and costs through completion of the work.
• Build and evaluate technical and economical trade-offs for flowsheet development.
• Develop and review process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and general arrangements and other engineering documents in support of study work.
• Authorship of study report documents as assigned.
• Supervise and manage contractors and consultants as needed.

Technical Competencies:

• Familiarity with mineral processing flowsheets for oxide gold ores; heap leach, and CIL.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Preferred: Familiarity with mineral processing flowsheets for refractory gold ores; flotation, pressure oxidation, roasting, atmospheric oxidation, Bio-oxidation.
• Preferred: Proficiency with R, Python, or Excel VBA.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher Chemical, Materials, or Metallurgical Engineering degree.
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one.

REQUIRED GENERAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Processing Operations or Engineering.
• Preferred - experience in project development and metallurgical testing.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is a full-time position based in the project office with periodic traveling required. Days and hours of work are typically Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm. Additional hours outside of the standard schedule will be required as needed during traveling and to meet project milestones.

Travel Requirements:

Domestic and international travel will be required as needed to complete project work.

COMPENSATION:

Base Salary Range $120,000 - $130,000
