AngloGold Ashanti Limited (Guinea/Ghana/Tanzania Business Unit) is seeking experienced and self-motivated persons to join our Technical Team as:

ROLE PURPOSE

The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing the mining equipment application and production systems & tools, as well as implementing effective training programs for all operators within the open pit mining environment. Additionally, the Production Improvement Specialist will continuously optimize all production practices & parameters to ensure maximum efficiency and output.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Continuously monitor and analyze mining production practices & equipment application to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance performance.
2. Optimize the mining production systems & tools to enhance efficiency and productivity in open pit mining operations.
3. Develop and implement effective training programs for operators of trucks, diggers, loaders, graders, dozers, and other relevant equipment.
4. Continuously monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance performance.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address operational challenges and develop innovative solutions.
6. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational best practices.
7. Provide technical support and guidance to operations teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize production processes.
8. Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials related to production optimization and equipment application & operation.
9. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

Qualification

• Minimum bachelor’s degree or diploma in a production related discipline (mining, geology, industrial field).

Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in open pit mining operations, with a focus on production optimization and equipment management.
• Proven experience with dispatch modular systems and fleet management software.
• Strong understanding of mining equipment functionality, application, maintenance, and operation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
• A high level of computer literacy with MS Excel, MSWord, and MS Powerpoint
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven track record of implementing successful production improvement initiatives and achieving measurable results.
• Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.

Remuneration:

As per the AGA salary scales.
