AGA have recently included a very rewarding new Apprenticeship to our business model, and we are excited to open this up for motivated and reliable individuals to apply to complete this 4-year program and commence a career as an Apprentice: Communications Technician. These roles are open to school leavers, and anyone who may be looking for a new career opportunity. 
 
What You Will Be Doing 
 
As an Apprentice Communications Technician, you are responsible for the maintenance and support of critical mine site technologies which support the safe and efficient production of gold. 

You will be ensured the highest standard of learning to complete your apprenticeship program and will gain comprehensive on-the-job experience in both surface and underground mining technologies, including digital radio, wireless networks, Fleet Management Systems, and CCTV . 

Classroom training will be provided so that you can successfully and confidently complete your nationally recognised qualification. 
 
As part of your Apprenticeship; you will learn  

• Competency and coursework requirements for Certificate III in Data and Voice Communications. 

• Skills to operate and maintain a Four-Wheel Drive Vehicle. 

• Competencies in Working Safely at Heights. 

• AGAA and site-specific training courses .  

• Vendor and equipment-specific training courses .  

The program will commence in January 2025 on 8 days, 6 days off roster.   
 

After completing this Apprenticeship, your career as a Mining Systems Specialist will evolve. 
 
Eligibility 

• Have an unwavering commitment to safety.  

• Be a team player with a willingness to deliver great outcomes for customers.   

• Be flexible and thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment.  

• An interest in Technology including wireless data, systems etc 

• Have a C class drivers licence (provisional licences are accepted). 

• Be able to think logically and keep up with changes in technology.  

• Be enthusiastic, motivated with a willingness to learn about this trade.  

• Solid written and verbal communication skills. 

• Underground Mining Industry experience is desirable. 

• Have the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance. 

• Have existing and ongoing valid Australian working rights (Mandatory).
