ABOUT GEITA GOLD MINING LTD

Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in South Africa, with operations in more than ten countries, in four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 85 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

Produce mine designs for the underground mine to meet the budget physicals in alignment with the mine plan and strategy in a manner consistent with Company’s Vision and Values

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Support the delivery of underground mine plans that maximise orebody value and enable safe, efficient execution.
• Prepare and issue planning work packages for the underground production team, including designs, stope notes, and grout plans.
• Analyse short-term production, equipment performance, and safety data to support planning quality and operational decision-making.
• Identify and communicate planning risks, schedule gaps, and budget threats to ensure proactive mitigation.
• Contribute to safe work practices by complying with SHE&C requirements, planning standards, procedures, and departmental controls.
• Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support collaboration and effective problem-solving.
• Support continuous improvement through innovative planning methods, technologies, and equipment strategies.
• Ensure planning documents, systems, and processes are maintained, controlled, and aligned with operational requirements.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Degree in Mining Engineering
• Professional Registrations with ERB

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• At least 3 years operational experience in an underground mine.
• Experience in mine design and scheduling software (Deswik, Studio UG, Vulcan and Aegis)
• Experience in mine planning, underground drill and blast and underground mine ventilation
• Broad range of technical skills relevant to large scale bulk and semi selective underground mining
• Sound understanding of the mining value chain and risk drivers in the business unit 
• Good communication skills
• Good report writing skills
