ABOUT GEITA GOLD MINING LTD

Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in South Africa, with operations in more than ten countries, in four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 85 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

The purpose of the role is to implement daily exploration work programs by collecting, plotting and interpretation of geological data from various exploration projects as assigned by the immediate supervisor/manager. On daily basis the role holder will perform surface geological mapping, open pit and underground face mapping, drilling and logging as well as sampling and arrangement of sample sheets for submission to the laboratory. The role holder will supervise the work of the direct reporters and provide feedback of work progress and results on daily and weekly basis.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Conduct systematic traverses to validate geological boundaries, structures, and lithological contacts identified in models.
• Update field maps daily and verify that mapping data aligns with GPS coordinates and project baselines.
• Assist in generating alteration and mineralization maps to support early target assessments
• Perform routine checks on drill recovery and ensure any loss or disturbance is reported and documented.
• Conduct preliminary lithological and structural logging to assist senior geologists in rapid interpretation.
• Investigate inconsistencies in RC or core samples and implement corrective measures at site level.
• Ensure all field data, logs, surveys, and sample sheets are electronically captured and uploaded within agreed timelines.
• Perform daily verification of data entries for errors, missing fields, or incorrect coding.
• Maintain orderly sample tracking records from rig → core yard → laboratory
• Prepare daily field updates summarizing drilling progress, mapping activities, sampling issues, and observations.
• Support weekly technical meetings with concise summaries and visual aids (photos, quick sections, sample stats).
• Draft initial versions of monthly exploration activity inputs ahead of senior geologist review.
• Suggest improvements to field workflows, sampling procedures, rig setup efficiency, or data capture processes.
• Participate in internal knowledge‑sharing sessions to build understanding of mineral systems and exploration strategy.
• Review past projects to identify overlooked anomalies or potential follow‑up targets

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or geoscience related field from a recognized Institution

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• At least two (2) Years experience in Exploration & mining

• Geological Mapping skills
• Competence on computer-aided software’s such as GIS, Datamine or Leapfrog.
• Supervision of exploration drilling programs
