ABOUT GEITA GOLD MINING LTD

Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in South Africa, with operations in more than ten countries, in four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 85 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

To do mining equipment maintenance such as preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and breakdown work, maintain a well-planned task to minimize break downs by doing proper and effective inspection during daily routine inspection as scheduled, also recording defects for planning maintenance and ad hoc work purpose which will lead to have right schedule time for the tasks during planning meeting. Maintain safety standard throughout before, during and after completion of the task executions

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Supervise maintenance and repair of heavy mobile equipment (HME)
• Lead and coordinate field service teams
• Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance work
• Manage breakdowns and minimize equipment downtime
• Enforce compliance with safety and maintenance standards
• Coordinate and execute planned, preventive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Ensure work is completed according to maintenance schedules and priorities.
• Optimize equipment availability and reliability
• Supervise and guide artisans and technicians in the field.
• Allocate tasks and monitor performance of team members.
• Conduct pre-task risk assessments and toolbox talks.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Must have VETA Grade test1 in motor vehicle mechanics or FTC Diploma in mechanical, automotive engineering or above.
• Must have a valid Tanzania driving license.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Experience supervising HME maintenance teams
• Strong knowledge of mining equipment and field service operations
• Proven leadership and problem-solving skills
