ABOUT GEITA GOLD MINING LTD

Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in South Africa, with operations in more than ten countries, in four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 85 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

Successfully help delivery of the planned maintenance regime, fulfilling its statutory obligation, whilst also providing a breakdown reactive response harmonizing both customers and organization requirements.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform maintenance and repairs on underground mining equipment
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults
• Conduct preventive and breakdown maintenance
• Ensure compliance with safety standards
• Ensure work is performed to the OEM’S standard and ensure quality of work increases over time after the equipment is released to production. 
• Be able to plan work before execution. 
• Maintain good housekeeping

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• VETA trade test certificate grade one or level three in mechanic engineering
• Diploma or FTC in mechanical or automotive engineering

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Three years’ experience and above working in the underground equipment’s Caterpillar Truck, Loader, Sandvik Truck & Loader, Normet and Drill Rigs
• Experience with diesel engines and powertrain systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Commitment to safety and teamwork
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance practices
• Basic understanding of electrical systems on mobile equipment
• Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment
