OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

Provide global expert-level technical oversight and mine engineering support for the entire AGA portfolio (operations, projects, and JVs) across Africa, Australia, the Americas, and the Middle East.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Expert Advisory: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for open-pit operations, improving planning and execution to reach "Operational Excellence."
• Technical Studies: Lead the mining components of project stage-gate reviews, covering optimisation, design, scheduling, and cost estimation.
• Full Asset Potential: Identify global opportunities to improve cost and operational performance through technical innovation and "best-in-class" practices.
• Ore Reserves: Support the Ore Reserve process and serve as a "Competent Person" for Mineral Reserve estimates.
• Systems & Standards: Develop and validate global mining standards, guidelines, and digital systems to support long-term "Health of Mine."
• Mentorship: Coach and develop site-based engineers and mining personnel to ensure discipline health.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• A degree qualification in a relevant mining-related discipline – Mining Engineering, Surveying, Civil
• A post-graduate degree qualification in a mining-related discipline - desirable
  

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Minimum 15 years in the mining industry with extensive open-pit expertise.
• Advanced software skills in mine design, optimisation, and scheduling.
• Deep understanding of the entire value chain (Geotech, Metallurgy, Projects).
• Advanced financial/commercial acumen (NPV, cost modelling, and contract management).
• Leadership: Strong ability to influence global stakeholders and lead high-performing professional teams without direct authority over site staff.
• Strong track record in business improvement and change management
• Strong track record of success in the resources industry
• Extensive business travel will be required
