OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

Lead financial governance for CapEx and OpEx portfolios. You will act as the global technical authority for cost estimation and economic analysis, specifically for tailings engineering projects.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Estimating Leadership: Develop and validate high-level CAPEX/OPEX estimates; maintain global cost databases and corporate estimating standards.
• Financial Evaluation: Perform NPV, payback, and risk assessments to support capital approval and strategic decision-making.
• Cost Control: Coordinate monthly forecasts (Outlooks), manage budget trends, and oversee Purchase Requisitions within SAP.
• Investment Governance: Prepare documentation for corporate investment committees and optimize the global tailings portfolio.
• Contingency Management: Standardize how allowances and contingencies are calculated and tracked across all project phases (FEL 1-3).

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Mining Engineering or a related qualification
• MBA or PG degree in Cost Engineering/Project Management - advantageous

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• 8+ years in industrial project cost estimation (Mining industry preferred).
• Expertise in Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs) and geotechnical principles.
• Advanced financial modeling (NPV, business cases, trade-off analysis).
• Proficiency in SAP and large-scale project management techniques.
• Advanced Excel
• Extensive experience with consolidation of capital figures, budgets as well as project estimates
