OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
This role supports the end-to-end strategic management of high value spend categories (Heavy Mobile Equipment, Tyres). You will act as a key partner to the Category Manager, using advanced analytics and market intelligence to drive cost efficiencies, manage supplier relationships, and mitigate supply chain risks.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Strategy & Sourcing: Support the development and execution of global category strategies, including tender drafting (RFI/RFP) and contract amendments.
- Advanced Analytics: Perform complex cost modelling (Should Cost, Rise & Fall), spend segmentation, and benchmarking to unlock value.
- Supplier Management: Monitor supplier performance and capabilities; support high-value negotiations to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Compliance & Systems: Manage contracts via SAP to ensure SOX compliance and operational excellence.
- Performance Tracking: Implement value-tracking reports (Savings, Price/Volume Variance) and maintain the Category Management Playbook.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work across business units to share best practices and align procurement with operational needs.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Minimum 3 years in category management or a commercial analytical role.
- Cost modelling, problem-solving and Excel.
- Category management, SAP, contract/supplier management and spend analytics.
- Strong familiarity with global supply markets.
