OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
As a Category Specialist you will be required to support end-to-end spend management for Reagents. You will assist the Category Manager in driving financial and operational success through market analysis, supplier relationship management (SRM), and the implementation of global procurement strategies.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Strategy & Sourcing: Support the development and execution of category strategies to unlock value, reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and ensure supply market transparency.
- Analysis & Modeling: Build should-cost models, perform advanced spend analytics, and conduct market benchmarking to support business decisions.
- Contract Management: Draft tendering documents, manage contracts via SAP, and ensure full SOX compliance.
- Supplier Relations: Drive negotiation strategies for high-value contracts and manage supplier performance through joint KPIs and continuous improvement projects.
- Operational Excellence: Implement "buy-better" strategies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement with broader business goals.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- Minimum BA in Business or a related field.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- + 3 years of business experience in a relevant category or a commercial analytical role.
- Proficiency in SAP and MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint).
- Expertise in Category Management, Cost Modelling and Spend Analytics.
- Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of financial/accounting principles.
