OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

• Implement mining designs, development strategies, and production processes in the Projects department in a safe manner to prevent shortfalls in mine projects and minimise overall project cost.
• Coordinate project execution activities within assigned mining block(s) and ensure effective communication between project engineering and operational teams.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Establish the necessary planning processes and practices for effective project planning and output.
• Assist with the preparation of technical analyses, engineering assessments, and project documentation for pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, final engineering and construction to support mining projects evaluation.
• Contribute critical mining engineering input to scoping, pre-feasibility, and definitive feasibility studies.
• Provide support within the project team to promote operational effectiveness, design validation, and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical support on mining engineering standards, design, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Drive implementation of projects and sustain a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the team.
• Ensure compliance with project planning standards through the development, maintenance, and application of project documentation, risk assessments, and Project Work Instructions that support safe and effective project delivery.
• Be responsible for daily, weekly and monthly planning of projects mining activities.
• Provide updates on underground project progress and coordinate with operational teams and contractors to ensure activities are executed to schedule.
• Be responsible for the design of project-related engineering deliverables including drill designs, charge plans, and supporting infrastructure documentation.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement initiatives that enhance compliance, efficiency and project delivery.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• BSc or Diploma in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Shift Boss Certificate of Competency will be an added advantage.
• Valid Ghanaian manual driver's licence as required by site.

Experience

• Two to three years’ operational experience within an underground mining environment.
• Proven experience in underground mining and mine planning, with exposure to infrastructure or project-focused roles.
• Exposure to mining feasibility studies is an advantage.

Knowledge & Skills

• Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of fundamental mining method.
• Proficient in Deswik CAD, AUTOCAD and MS Office Suite, including Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to support planning discussions and documentation.
• Analytical mindset with attention to design accuracy, compliance, and execution requirements.
• Ability to work underground as required, including travel between work areas.
• Capable of using a computer for extended periods in an office environment.
• Physically fit to meet site medical and functional capacity requirements.
