We are now seeking a Specialist Accountant to join our Finance-Controllership team at AngloGold Ashanti Australia. This is a permanent position working within the Finance team based in the Perth Regional Office.
Accountable to the Director Regional Controllership, you will be an active and integral member of the Finance team, which will provide you with the opportunity to work for one of the world’s leading gold mining organisations.
About the role
This position is required to assist in providing a comprehensive range of financial accounting services to the Australian region. The duties will be centred on the preparation of the region’s monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes. The main accountabilities will include:
- Period-end reporting, including use of SAP, HFM and TM1, and quarterly deliverables to corporate head office
- Assisting with regional SOX requirements
- Assisting with auditor requirements
- IFRS16 Leases
- JV accounting and reporting
- HY and FY financial statements
- Assist with regional taxation workings and returns
About you

- Degree qualified in accounting/commerce
- Completed or close to completion of CA/CPA studies
- Relevant experience an advantage
- SAP experience an advantage
- Intermediate level MS Excel skills
- Full permanent working rights in Australia (Mandatory)
You need to be a good team member, have good interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work under tight time pressure. Your high attention to detail is essential.
