We currently have an exciting permanent opening for an Environmental Advisor to join our site based Environmental Operations team at our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine.  Accountable to the Senior Environmental Advisor.

This position is based at our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8 days on/6 days off FIFO roster, where we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie.

 

Role Purpose:

 

This role is accountable for undertaking environmental management activities relevant to compliance with Regulatory requirements and contributing to the maintenance of systems and processes for continual improvement in environmental performance

 

Accountabilities:

  • Be part of a team that ensures compliance to environmental obligations by providing support to exploration, mining (both Underground & Open Cut), processing, maintenance workshops, supply, and other support functions.
  • Assisting with the execution of all aspects of operational and regulatory compliance. This will span activities ranging from exploration through to the execution of progressive rehabilitation on sites with a mixture of underground and open pit mining.
  • Undertaking scheduled environmental compliance monitoring activities and pre-disturbance clearances assessment ahead of exploration activities.
  • Be a key contributor to the maintenance of systems and processes for continual improvement in environmental performance.

 

About You

  • Tertiary qualified in environmental science, or equivalent industry experience, with relevant experience in mining industry in environmental operational compliance roles
  • Moderate level of general knowledge of environmental, hazard and risk management
  • High level of attention to detail in relation to datasets
  • Ability to identify trends and potential outliers in datasets
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake tasks as assigned
  • Moderate level of skill in technical report writing.
  • Previous experience using GIS is highly desirable
  • Broad understanding of other mining disciplines including mining, processing and maintenance activities
  • The ability to obtain a new national police clearance
  • Permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory)
  • Manual C Licence
