We are currently seeking a Superintendent: Processing to join our Processing Operations team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine where you’ll lead a team, manage plant operations and contribute to the long-term success of one of Australia’s premier gold operations. The role will be directly reporting to the Manager; Processing.

This is a site-based FIFO role on an 8/6 roster. We operate FLIGHTS from Perth or Kalgoorlie.
 

Role purpose:
 

As the Superintendent: Processing, you will lead the operation of the processing plant to meet production targets while ensuring safety, efficiency and sustainability. You will drive continuous improvement, mentor your team and collaborate across departments to support long-term operational goals and the Life of Mine strategy.
 

Accountabilities:
 

  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, delivering compliance with SHE&C plans, management systems and processes.
  • Develop long term operational plans to deliver the Life of Mine plan.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and career development of a small team of direct reports
  • Build and continuously improve the processing plant’s capacity and capability to achieve budget by effective reporting, up-to-date manuals, rostering, planning, identifying bottlenecks etc
  • Oversee the operation of the plant to achieve various operating targets, limit process interruptions and co-ordinate with shutdowns to optimise processing plant utilisation.
  • Contribute to financial plans and expenditure within the plant operations pertaining to cost control, monthly reports and forecasting.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement programs to optimise plant performance, reduce costs and increase efficiency through innovation and operational excellence.

  • Values fully aligned with AngloGold Ashanti's values and its commitment to safety and the environment.
  • Demonstrated experience within a senior leadership role at medium to large scale processing facility.
  • Sound knowledge of applicable WHS regulations / legislation and codes of practice.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A Certificate IV in Frontline Management is desirable.
  • Possess a background in metallurgy, chemical engineering, or related fields, ideally complemented by advanced certifications or qualifications.
  • A high level of computer literacy with MS Excel, MSWord, and MS Powerpoint and experience with CMMS systems preferably SAP.
  • Strong decision making and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to input into continuous improvement practises.
  • Experience in budgeting and cost control.
  • The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
  • Have existing and ongoing valid Australian working rights (Mandatory).
