3. Role Context and Purpose

The conveyor belt supervisor – Crushing (  Supervisor vulcanizing)  is accountable for executing all tasked maintenance work on conveyor systems, including superscrew , hot and cold splicing , all repairs , tracking , inspections , report daily ,relagging of pullys  ,  safety of all workers, in accordance with other compliance requirements, operational and standards, systems and procedures to maximize plant availability in a compliant, safe, sustainable cost-effective manner and minimize operational risks in order to meet the business’ strategic objective.

Safety Accountabilities:

  • Work according to total quality management principles and ensure zero defect objectives and safety
  • Adhere to site’s Environmental Management Plan

 

 

Work Accountabilities:

  • Gather information for Superintendent Maintenance for reporting performance
  • Execute all tasked maintenance work on conveyor systems,
  • Identify actions for continuous improvement and compliment operability to requirements is ensured
  • Report any anomalies to the Superintendent Maintenance for generation of work requests in SAP as required for maintenance planning and scheduling

 

 

People Accountabilities:        

  • Assess all equipment required for completion of the tasked work, create checklist and transport all tools necessary for task completion.
  • Execute daily pre-start checks of equipment/tools prior to leaving workshop. Escalate and report any anomalies.

 

 

 

Financial Accountabilities:     

  • Identify, communicate and escalate potential cost reduction initiatives to the supervisor
  • Propose cost savings projects

6. Person Specification (list the minimum essential requirements for the role)

 

Qualifications                          :

  • Completed conveyor splicing apprenticeship from recognized scheme
  • Certified Belt Splicer with experience in mining Industry
  • Certificate in Rubber lining

 

 

Experience                              :

  • An experienced conveyor belt splicing tradesperson with over 10 Years’ experience in surface mining (Preferably on ply belt steel cord hot and cold splicing and super screw,  pulley lagging, screens and feeders)       
  • Experience with installation and repair of Dunlop, Sig or continental conveyor Belt

  • Must be able to communicate about technical issues both orally and in writing
  • Must be able to write professional reports
