OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
- To help service and maintain the drill rig.
- To ensure high availability and reliability of the drill rig.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Maintain a high safety conscious approach to work with health and environmental awareness.
- Service and maintain drilling rig mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and basic electrical systems associated with mobile mining equipment.
- Conduct pre-operational checks and monitor conditions including water flow, components, fluid levels, fittings, safety equipment, and depths and alignments of boring positions.
- Carry out preventive maintenance to support drill rig availability and reliability.
- Identify faults and perform basic troubleshooting to resolve mechanical issues.
- Work effectively under direction and supervision while supporting team goals.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- Technical Institute or Technical SHS Certificate in Major HME or TVET.
- Certificate in Automotive Engineering, Plant Mechanics, or a related technical discipline.
- Rig Maintenance certificate.
Experience
- Minimum 5-10 years' experience in an Open Pit environment.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge in rig maintenance and servicing.
- Practical knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
- Basic fault finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to use mechanical tools and workshop equipment.
- Basic electrical systems associated with mobile mining equipment.
- Reliability, attention to detail, safety awareness, and ability to support team objectives.
