ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (A subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operate the combine Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pits gold mines at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana and has a work force of over 1400, including contractors.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

• Direct and supervise teams applying protective rubber coatings to equipment to prevent corrosion and abrasion, ensure safety compliance, and train crew members on precise lining techniques.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Lead and coordinate rubber lining installations and repairs on hoppers, tanks, pipes, mills and cyclones.
• Plan daily schedules, monitor progress, and deliver work on time and within budget.
• Oversee surface preparation and lining activities including grit blasting, degreasing, priming, cutting rubber sheets, adhesive application, and hot/cold vulcanizing.
• Supervise workshop and site crews, allocate tasks, and manage performance.
• Complete daily plant inspections, report findings, and conduct periodic assessments to recommend repairs.
• Enforce safety standards, run toolbox talks, and ensure safe handling of adhesives and solvents.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• NVTI Mechanical/Auto Engineering Certificate Intermediate, Part I to III, HND Mechanical/Auto or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in rubber lining and conveyor belt vulcanizing.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of three conveyor belt splicing methods and accurate measuring and splicing.
• Ability to multitask with quality of work as a priority.
• Valid Ghanaian Driving Licence with proficiency to drive a light vehicle.
• Knowledge of surface preparation, cold bonding, and hot/cold vulcanizing techniques.
• Strong safety focus including toolbox talks and safe handling of adhesives and solvents.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and effective team support.
