ABOUT GEITA GOLD MINING LTD

Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in South Africa, with operations in more than ten countries, in four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 85 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

To perform both preventive regular maintenance work on assigned mechanical system to ensure that they work efficiently and to minimize chances of breakdowns and down time.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Ensure that safety work permits are properly filled and lock out procedure are carried out before commencement of work.
• Ensure that maintenance work allocated to are carried out within time frame to keep plant running to achieve set target.
• To install and repair components required to run mechanical system properly to ensure minimum down time.
• Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components.
• To report any shortage of spares to the Foreman.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Mechanical Technician Part I & II, HND Mechanical Engineering or Motor Vehicle Technician Part I & II, NVTI Apprenticeship.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• 1-3 years working experience in a mining industry
• Must have optimum knowledge in processing plant.
• Must have an in-depth technical know-how in preventive maintenance.
• Ability to undertake multiple tasking with quality of work as priority.
• Must have excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.
• Medically fit for the position and the environment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and proficiency in driving a light vehicle.
