OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
To assist medical officers in the day to day running of the clinic on a shift bases.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assess, plan and carry out clinical care to all clients reporting to the hospital.
- Observe IPC protocols for patient and staff safety.
- Demonstrate leadership and administrative capabilities in supervising nursing assistants to carry out day to day responsibilities within the national health policy and policy framework of the company.
- Supervise housekeeping staff in maintaining a relatively clean environment in accordance with ISO 14001 and WHO protocols.
- Carry out post incident investigation tests and report to all stakeholders.
- Contribute to health promotion through patient/client education and counselling on identified health needs in accordance with national health and institutional policies.
- Demonstrate the ability to incorporate nursing informatics using the available institutional software in the care of patients for easy data generation and analysis.
- Demonstrate ability to ensure absolute privacy and security of protected health information during daily hospital operations.
- All other tasks assigned by the Senior Nursing Officer.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in general nursing.
- GCNM recognised Postgraduate Certificate in either Emergency nursing, Critical nursing, or Perioperative nursing would be an added advantage.
- Certificate of Registration- Ghana Nurses and Midwives Council.
Legal Requirement
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana
- Hold a valid practicing license (PIN)
- Renew your license periodically as required by law.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- 5 years post bachelors working experience
- Additional 2 years post-GCNM qualification working experience is an added advantage
- Basic surgical skills.
- In hospital emergency response management with competencies in administering BLS, ALS, ATLS
- Clinical Nursing Knowledge
- Emergency & Trauma Care.
Other Requirements
- Handling injuries (fractures, burns, crush injuries)
- CPR and life support (BLS/ACLS certification preferred)
- Stabilizing patients before evacuation.
