ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (A subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operate the combine Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pits gold mines at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana and has a work force of over 1400, including contractors.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
Support community development initiatives by engaging with local groups, coordinating activities, and providing administrative assistance to promote community well-being. The role ensures that the company’s operations align with social performance standards, human rights principles, and relevant regulatory requirements, while promoting sustainable livelihoods and peaceful co-existence within the company’s operational areas.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Community Engagement: Participate in community outreach activities and build relationships with local groups and stakeholders.
- Project Support: Assist in planning and execution of community development projects and events.
- Data Collection: Collect and collate project data and prepare reports as required.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the team, including filing, correspondence, and data entry.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with community members, NGOs, and government agencies to support project activities.
- Capacity Building: Assist in identifying training needs and coordinating capacity-building activities for community groups.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Support monitoring of project activities and submit reports on progress and outcomes.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- Tertiary qualification (Degree) in BSc/BA Public Administration, Sociology and Development Studies.
Legal Requirement
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana
- Hold a valid practicing license (PIN)
- Renew your license periodically as required by law.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role within the mining industry
- Proven experience in external relations, community engagement, public affairs, or a related field, preferably in extractive industry, corporate or non-profit environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
- Good understanding of local culture and practices.
- Ability to speak fluently in any of these Akan dialects Wassa, Fante, and/ or Twi is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to develop and execute complex communication and engagement strategies.
- Commitment to the organization's mission and values, with a passion for making a positive impact on the community.
- Possess Conflict Resolutions and Mobilization Skills.
- Must possess valid Ghanaian Driving License and proficiency to drive light vehicle.
