OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
Ensure the effective functioning of processing plant equipment to support optimum production recovery.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Apply safe work procedures and environmental controls to support safe, efficient, and compliant operation of plant circuits.
- Conduct pre-start equipment checks each shift, identify hazards, defects, and deviations, and report them promptly to the supervisor.
- Support plant operations by assisting the control room operator with field information and working closely with process control and instrumentation teams during operational changes and troubleshooting.
- Monitor conveyor belt feed, remove boulders and foreign materials, and ensure chutes remain clear of build-ups.
- Report faults and operating issues, help maintain mill operation within set parameters, and control reagent standards as determined by the metallurgical technical team.
- Maintain clear shift records and communicate effectively with operators, maintenance personnel, and relieving operators to ensure continuity of operations.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- Minimum qualification of Mechanical Engineering Technician II or Electrical & Electronic Technician II, NVTI, City & Guilds or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Medical fitness for the position and the operating environment.
- Valid Ghanaian driver's license with proficiency in driving light vehicles.
Experience
- Minimum of two years working experience in a gold processing plant.
Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to report accidents, incidents, and near misses and participate in investigations.
- Strong and energetic with the ability to work long hours while maintaining quality of work.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of mill operations.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and a strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to work collaboratively and follow direction and supervision for most tasks.
