OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
- To support Grade Control activities including blast leveling, ore markout, ripline cutting, and ore spotting in the pit and at the Rompad.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Comply with workplace safety and health requirements and report hazards, accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Carry out blast levelling, ripline cutting, and watering of riplines before ore markout activities.
- Ensure ore markouts are clearly demarcated with grades written visibly on the line floor of the ore zone.
- Work with Dozer and Water Browser operators to maintain clear visual control and effective dust suppression.
- Communicate block number, grade, and bench level to Dispatch and Rompad Control.
- Monitor activities, submit tally sheets at the end of each shift, and perform lawful duties assigned by the Supervisor.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- Minimum qualification of BECE, MSLC, SSCE, WASSCE, or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Valid driver’s license.
Experience
- Minimum of one year working experience in geological operations within the mining industry or a similar environment.
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic knowledge of pit ore spotting and Grade Control activities including leveling, ripline cutting, and mark out.
- Knowledge of geological model and database.
- Ability to report accidents, incidents, and near misses and participate in investigations.
- Good interpersonal and human relations skills with the ability to work with people from diverse cultures and values.
- Physical stamina and energy with the ability to work long hours while maintaining quality of work.
- Proficiency in driving a light vehicle.
- Reliable, safety conscious, and attentive to detail.
- Able to work under direction and supervision and contribute positively to team goals.
