ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (A subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operate the combine Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pits gold mines at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana and has a work force of over 1400, including contractors.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

To coordinate belt and rubber lining issues on the overland conveyor, which includes supervising all breakdowns on the Conveyors belts and coordinating to ensure smooth shutdown maintenance programs.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Daily Inspection on the conveyor lines
• Routine maintenance of the conveyor             
• Repair all breakdowns on the conveyor.                     
• Sandblasting & rubber lining of pipes.                  

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• NVTI apprenticeship Program grade 1&2 certificate in rubber lining.      

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• 1-3 years working experience in processing plant within the mining industry or similar environment.
• Types of rubber adhesives and cement
• Mixing ratios and curing times
• Temperature and humidity effects on bonding
• Avoiding bonding failures (peeling, bubbles, weak joints)
