ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (A subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operate the combine Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pits gold mines at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana and has a work force of over 1400, including contractors.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

The incumbent among other duties will assist the team to patrol the Process Plant, mining areas and residential premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, fence, and gates.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Maintain a safe environment by monitoring and enforcing controls on buildings and equipment.
• Protect premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment and access points, and permitting entry.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, and restraining trespassers.
• Control traffic by directing drivers.
• Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities.
• Interview visitors to obtain clarity on their mission before granting access.
• Respect human rights of all people, including illegal miners, and comply with legal requirements.
• Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
• Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Adhere to all company operating standards.
• Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees, contractors, suppliers and visitors.
• Protect the company’s assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues.
• Follow procedures for fire prevention, property patrol, traffic control and accident investigations.
• Serve as an intelligence arm of the department by providing timely information to security management on matters detrimental to the mine or company.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Minimum of SHS / GCE 'O' Level / WASSCE with the required training from Military, Police or Private Security Agencies.

Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience as a Security within the Mining Industry.

Knowledge & Skills

• Good knowledge in drone operation
• Knowledge of industrial security functions, public safety and security.
• Ability to multitask with quality of work as priority.
• Medically fit for the position.
• Valid class B driver’s license with proficiency in driving a light vehicle.
• Reliability, attention to detail, strong safety focus and team support.
• Able to work under direction and supervision for most tasks.
