ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (A subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operate the combine Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pits gold mines at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana and has a work force of over 1400, including contractors.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

To support supervisors to effectively supervise operators/ attendants to ensure that daily targets are achieved at the crushing plant. 

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Supervise and assign tasks to operators and attendants.
• Report all safety related incidents and environmental related incidents which occur within your domain.
• Keep crusher and other associated areas clean and organized to always ensure good housekeeping at the crushing plant.
• Performs all duties required to keep crusher production on schedule for budgeted tonnage.
• Assists with maintenance and repairs of crusher equipment.
• Coordinate and directs equipment and personnel for the purpose of production goals and targets.
• Write report at the end of the shift.
• Coordinate the daily calibration on the secondary and the primary crushers for require product size.
• Work with Supervisors to develop a short-term schedule, weekly and monthly, and a long-term schedule for mechanical and electrical maintenance for the crusher area.
• Ensure all emergency wires are reset after shutdown and dust suppression systems are functioning.
• Monitor the operation of equipment and report all equipment defects to the supervisor.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• O’ level, A’ level, Middle School leaving Certificate, HND or SSCE or its equivalent and should be computer literate.
• Certificate in Mineral Processing or High school diploma or equivalent

Legal Requirements

• Certified or eligible to be certified by Inspectorate Division of Minerals Commission.
  
  

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• 7-10 years’ experience in processing plant operations as well as planning and organization of crusher operations.

• Experience in supervision of plant operators and attendants.
• Knowledge of maintenance practices involving material handling systems including hands on experience with crushers and conveyors in similar operations.
• Must be able to report all accidents and incidents, in particular “near misses” and to participate in the investigation process.
• Ability to interact with people of diverse cultures and values.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks with quality of work as priority.
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
• Must be strong and energetic and ability to work for long hours.
• Possess valid Ghanaian Driving License and proficiency in driving light vehicle.
