ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (A subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operate the combine Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pits gold mines at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana and has a work force of over 1400, including contractors.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

To ensure the safe and effective running of operations such as milling circuit, gravity circuit, thickeners, elution, CIP etc. to achieve optimum plant efficiency.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Assist to ensure the various KPI’s, mill throughput (670tph wet), milling efficiency (92% utilization), cyclone efficiencies (65% passing 106µm), recovery (96%), 1 elution strip per 12hour shift) at a given mill availability are achieved.
• Assist to troubleshoot problems that hinder production and suggest possible recommendation for consideration.
• Assist to ensure the efficient use of reagents to achieve maximum plant recovery and reagent optimisation.
• Assist to ensure that the mills always run within established parameters (power, density, weight) for optimum operations.

• Support the implementation of safe work procedures that to ensure safe and efficient control of all circuit within the plant

• Work closely with the process control group with regards to operational changes and troubleshooting of circuit deficiencies.
• Prepare shift report on occurrences during the shift
• Ensure good housekeeping for the various unit of the plant.
• Ensure good housekeeping for the various unit of the plant.
• Ensure maximum labour utilization and compile timely labour hours work per shift for payment of salaries and allowances.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Degree in Applied Science (Metallurgical) or Chemical Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy or Mineral Engineering.

Legal Requirements

• Certified by Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission of Ghana as a Process Supervisor.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Minimum of three (3) years working experience in a high tonnage throughout gold ore processing plant.
• Must be knowledgeable in the processing procedures and other Legislative Instruments governing processing plant operations.
• Must be proactive and approach to identifying issues
• Ability to act quickly during breakdowns or emergencies
• Focus on continuous improvement
• Must have good communication, interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people of diverse culture and values.
• Must possess valid Ghanaian Driving License to operate Light Vehicle.
