OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
Bridge field exploration, grade control execution, resource evaluation, and contractor governance to ensure drill data is collected safely, cost-effectively, and to strict QA/QC standards.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead drilling and evaluation activities, including strategic oversight of drilling program planning and execution.
- Generate and maintain grade control and resource models, including Ordinary kriging estimation, model checks, and geological wireframing from active drilling blocks.
- Deliver reconciliation activities across monthly, quarterly, mid-year, and yearly cycles using Datamine tools and compare model predictions with actual plant performance.
- Develop and apply geological modelling, geostatistical methods, and XRF models using Leapfrog Geo, Leapfrog, and Datamine Studio UG.
- Lead, mentor, and develop direct reports while driving succession planning, technical capability building, and a high-performing team culture.
- Ensure Mine Geology activities are delivered in accordance with Company values, policies, standards, procedures, laws, regulations, local cultural norms, and third-party agreements.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- BSc (Hons) in Geology or Earth Sciences.
- Ability to obtain Minerals Commission competency certificate.
- Valid Ghanaian Driver’s License.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience relevant to the deposit and style of mineralisation.
- Experience working successfully in a senior Mineral Resource Evaluation role.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong background in evaluation, drilling, and exploration.
- Technical knowledge of geological modelling and Resource Evaluation methodologies, processes, and best practices.
- Competence in Mineral Resource Reporting codes such as SAMREC and JORC.
- Knowledge of sampling, assaying, and drilling methodologies.
- Understanding of grade control methodologies, production or mining, and reconciliation value chains.
- Broad understanding of Mining, Geotechnical, Processing, and Financial Analysis disciplines.
- Knowledge of safety, risk, compliance, and relevant geology laws, regulations, and policies.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, cross-functional communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, make sound and timely decisions, and work with integrity and professionalism.
