We are currently seeking a permanent Blaster/Painter Technician to join our Maintenance Team at Tropicana Gold Mine. Reporting directly to the Asset Integrity Supervisor, this position is offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.

 

As a Blaster/Painter Technician within the Asset Integrity team, you will play a key role in maintaining and protecting critical plant infrastructure to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Tropicana processing facility. Working directly with the Asset Integrity Supervisor and broader Maintenance team, you will contribute to achieving operational excellence through high-quality corrosion protection and asset preservation activities.

 

About the Role

 

  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards, contributing to our commitment to a safe, injury-free workplace.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with site policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
  • Perform abrasive blasting, industrial coating, and protective maintenance activities in accordance with site standards, specifications, and maintenance strategies.
  • Support the Asset Integrity Supervisor in the execution of maintenance plans, delivering work to the required quality, safety, and performance standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide timely feedback on complete work, equipment condition, and improvement opportunities through SAP systems.
  • Build strong working relationships across operational and maintenance teams, promoting effective communication, collaboration, and shared understanding of asset integrity objectives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance asset reliability, plant availability, and cost-effective maintenance outcomes.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a multi-disciplinary maintenance team.
  • Extensive experience working in heavy industrial environments, preferably within mining, mineral processing, or related industries.
  • Proven expertise in abrasive blasting, industrial spray painting, and protective coating application.
  • Experience operating plural-component spray equipment for Polyurea 1050H or similar high-performance coating systems will be highly regarded.
  • Concrete repair and remediation experience is desirable.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, including obtaining additional certifications and competencies such as Ultra High-Pressure Water Jetting (UHPW), Rigging, and Bobcat operation.
  • Current and unrestricted WA C Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Permanent and unrestricted working rights within Australia.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment and National Police Clearance.
