Due to an internal promotion, we are now seeking an experienced or ready to step up Electrical Leading Hand to join our Maintenance team at our Tropicana Gold Mine on a 12 month Fixed Term basis.
Accountable to the Electrical Superintendent, this role is responsible for carrying out maintenance tasks and improvements to facilitate the continuous operation of a Mineral Processing Plant and support services.
This position reports directly to the Appointed Electrical Supervisor and is offered on a FIFO 8 days on/6 days off roster from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.

Accountabilities:
- Maintaining all electrical aspects relating to crushers, conveyor systems, pumps, ball mills, concentrators, vibrating screens & feeders, cranes & hoists, cyclones and all associated wiring, and being familiar with PLC’s and instrumentation functionality.
- Assist with the management of work plans on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Carry out installation of new equipment or modifications to existing equipment
- Availability after hours on a “Call Out” roster basis to respond to any equipment breakdown
- To liaise closely with metallurgical, processing and maintenance personnel on safety, plant performance and technical issues with the aim of optimising plant performance.
- Assist with shutdown co-ordination and execution
- Perform relief duties for the Electrical Supervisor
Eligible for appointment as an electrical supervisor and expand on those requirements and add that s26 training and the statutory units of competency ( BSBWHS414, RIIRIS402E and BSBWHS411) are beneficial.
About You

- A current A grade WA electrical worker’s license issued under the Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991
- Keen to showcase your mentoring and expertise within this field
- A dual trade as an Instrument Technician or have experience with instrumentation and PLC’s
- Extensive experience in the maintenance of mineral processing or heavy industrial plants
- Hold, or be eligible to attain, a high voltage operator’s certification.
- Computer literacy
- WA C Class Driver’s License
- National police clearance
- Existing and ongoing Permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory).
