The Opportunity
Our Reliability Specialist at Tropicana leads the focus on machinery health. The functions of condition monitoring using thermography, lubricant and vibration monitoring are fundamental to the role. The ability to appraise conditions, prioritise actions and communicate appropriately are essential to perform well in this role and will enable the incumbent to integrate with the company values.
Role Purpose
To maintain availability of plant by identifying plant and machinery defects using various tools and initiating corrective actions. Designing, implementing and optimising effective maintenance strategies and conducting equipment performance investigations to minimise cost and maximise production capacity of the processing plant.
Accountable to the Senior Specialist Reliability this role is based at our Tropicana Gold Mine on an 8/6 FIFO roster, we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct the process plant condition monitoring tasks including thermography and vibration monitoring.
- Manage the reliability program for the processing plant, specifically planned condition monitoring work. Identify appropriate techniques for equipment condition assessment
- Implementation of processes for analysis and investigation of plant incidents and failures.
- Liaison with service providers and contractors.
- Identifying variances to plan, root causes and action to prevent recurrence.
- Demonstrate compliance with site Sustainability Policies and work management processes
- Participate to the morning daily production meeting discussing past 24-hours issues and liaising with maintenance execution, production, metallurgy teams to address any day-to-day issues raised
- Develop and maintain good relationships with maintenance execution, planning, production, warehouse, inventory, procurement and vendors
- Provide ad-hoc training on failure analysis, condition monitoring and defect elimination to the maintenance execution and production teams
- Assist in conducting minor cost analysis using SAP data as technical justifications for supporting any technical solutions suggested
About You

- Mechanical or Electrical Trade
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with processing plant using crushing, milling and leaching equipment.
- Hyrdrocarbon management
- Efficiencies with non-destructive inspections of components using dye-penetrant, magnetic particle and ultrasonic testing equipment
- Understanding of Lubrication principles
- Proficient using computer based ERP systems and SAP
- Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets
- Current WA Drivers Licence, A National Police Clearance, Existing and ongoing Permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory)
