We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Specialist Environment to join our Environmental team at our Tropicana Gold Mine.  Accountable to the Superintendent: Environment Operations, this is offered on a 4 days on, 3 days off roster.  Where we offer a direct flight from Perth and a quick commute to camp.

Role Purpose:

 

To coordinate the environmental activities on site relevant to compliance with regulatory requirements and the maintenance of environmental management systems and processes for continual improvement in
environmental performance.


Accountabilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Providing expert environmental advice to site leadership.
  • Developing and implementing environmental improvement strategies.
  • Develop budget and forecast plans to achieve key business objectives.
  • Managing environmental projects.
  • Participating in environmental audits and assessments.
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Providing leadership and mentorship in environmental management.

 

 

About You

  • A strong commitment to safety.
  • Quality communication skills at relevant levels of the business.
  • A broad understanding of mining disciplines including exploration, mining, processing, and maintenance activities.
  • The skills to be outcomes focused and flexible; to know what we must do to maintain compliance and find new, innovative ways to do that.
  • A tertiary qualification in environmental science, or equivalent industry experience, with demonstrate site based operational experience at a senior level.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulatory requirements, hazard, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated experienced in a site-based role, at a senior level.
  • A high level of attention to detail and the ability to interpret and manage environmental data to inform decision making.
  • Obtaining of a national police clearance
  • Permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory)
