We are now seeking a Senior Technician Electrical Maintenance to join our Maintenance team at our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. Reporting to the Supervisor Electrical Maintenance, you’ll be responsible for providing frontline support and ensuring all electrical work is completed safely, on time, cost-effectively, and with environmental responsibility – supporting the continuous operation of the Processing Plant and the non-underground infrastructure.

 

This role is based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8/6 FIFO roster; we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie.

 

About the role

 

  • Maintain all electrical systems associated with crushers, conveyors, pumps, ball mills, concentrators, vibrating screens and feeders, cranes and hoists, cyclones, and related wiring. Familiarity with PLCs and instrumentation is desirable
  • Support the Electrical Supervisor in ensuring all electrical maintenance work is completed safely and in line with established procedures and safety systems.
  • Assist in planning and managing work activities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Carry out installation of new equipment or modifications to existing equipment.
  • To liaise closely with metallurgical, processing and maintenance personnel on safety, plant performance and technical issues with the aim of optimising plant performance.
  • Assist with coordination and execution of planned shutdowns.
  • Provide relief coverage for the Electrical Supervisor as required.

 

About you

  • Unrestricted WA Electrical Licence (essential)
  • Processing plant electrical & instrumentation experience (desirable)
  • PLC fault finding and diagnostics (prior experience with Allen Bradley preferred) – desirable
  • Instrumentation Certificate, PLCs and automation experience (desirable)
  • Previous Senior Electrical experience with strong practical knowledge
  • High Voltage Switching qualifications and experience (essential)
  • Computer literacy, SAP knowledge (desirable)
  • Relevant tickets, such as working at heights, confined space, EWP (desirable)
  • Valid WA “C” Grade Manual Drivers Licence (essential)
  • Have existing and ongoing permanent working rights in Australia (essential)
  • Ability to attain a new National Police Clearance (essential)
