AngloGold Ashanti Limited (Guinea Unit) is seeking experienced and self-motivated persons to join our Technical Team as:
Position: Geotechnical Engineer
ROLE PURPOSE :
The core aims of this role is to:
- Provide technical support for implementation and construction teams
- Lead the detailed design of dam reinforcement and new structures
- Ensure compliance with geotechnical design standards and best practices
- Oversee stability analysis and settlement predictions
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Safety Health and Environment
In your area of responsibility, you will be expected to :
- provide support to the accomplishment of the HSE objectives
- Promote a culture where Safety is our first value
- Giving support to the Safety team in the effort for ensuring that Safety Objectives are aligned with the business plans and that all Safety Programs are implemented in accordance with AGA Standards.
Work Accountabilities:
- Lead the detailed design of dam reinforcement and new structures.
- Provide technical support for implementation and construction teams.
- Evaluate soil and tailings properties for engineering decisions.
- Develop and update geotechnical design reports and drawings.
- Oversee stability analysis and settlement predictions.
- Support construction team with foundation and compaction requirements.
- Interpret geotechnical monitoring and instrumentation data.
- Ensure compliance with geotechnical design standards and best practices.
- Liaise with consultants and contractors on technical matters.
- Provide expert input on risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Manage all non-conformances and corrective actions in the project.
- Coordinate and review field and laboratory tests for soils and tailings.
- Oversee QA/QC company activities, ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Develop and implement quality control plans for construction phases.
- Analyze test results and provide recommendations to engineering team.
- Maintain complete records of quality inspections and reports.
- Ensure compliance with international and company quality standards.
- Support technical audits and inspections on site.
- Train and guide field teams in QA/QC procedures.
- Coordinate with project managers to resolve quality issues promptly.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Qualification & Experience
- Civil Engineer with geotechnical specialization;
- Master’s degree is a differential
Experience
- Experience: 10+ years working in related areas
