Why Join Us

At AngloGold Ashanti, we believe our success is built on trust, transparency, and strong relationships with the communities where we operate. As we advance our Nevada Projects, we’re looking for a passionate and experienced Community Relations Manager to be the bridge between our projects and local communities, tribal governments, NGOs, and other stakeholders.

This role is about more than communication — it’s about building lasting partnerships, creating shared value, and helping our projects contribute positively to the region for generations to come.

About the Role

As the Community Relations Manager, you’ll be the “first touch” ambassador for AngloGold Ashanti in Nevada. You’ll design and lead engagement strategies, address community concerns, and ensure stakeholders are informed, respected, and part of the conversation. You’ll also mentor a small team, represent AGA at community events, and work closely with our operations, environmental, and permitting teams to ensure that community perspectives shape how we work.

What You’ll Do

  • Engage & Build Trust: Develop and implement community and tribal engagement strategies that strengthen our social license to operate.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with environmental, permitting, and operational teams to integrate community perspectives into decision-making.

  • Lead Community Initiatives: Design and deliver programs that bring long-term social and economic benefits to Beatty and surrounding areas.

  • Represent AGA: Attend community meetings, forums, and events as the face of the Nevada Projects.

  • Communicate Clearly: Share timely, accurate updates through meetings, digital channels, and other communications.

  • Manage Stakeholder Concerns: Serve as the main point of contact for community inquiries, ensuring respectful, timely responses.

  • Strengthen Partnerships: Build relationships with local governments, NGOs, and community organizations.

  • Support Visibility: Grow AGA’s social media and online presence to highlight community initiatives and project progress.

  • Mentor & Lead: Supervise and support a direct report while fostering professional growth.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences, Community Development, or related field.

  • Experience: 5–7 years in community relations, government affairs, or stakeholder engagement (natural resources or mining experience preferred).

  • Leadership: At least 2 years of supervisory experience, with the ability to mentor and inspire.

  • Skills: Excellent communication (written, verbal, and public speaking), strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office/Teams.

  • Mindset: Empathetic, solutions-oriented, and comfortable navigating sensitive or complex topics with professionalism.

  • Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license; ability to travel frequently within Nevada and occasionally out of state.

What We Value

  • A strong commitment to safety, integrity, and respect in all interactions.

  • The ability to build partnerships that deliver value both to communities and to the business.

  • Creativity and innovation in designing engagement and community development initiatives.

  • A collaborative, team-focused approach with a willingness to listen, learn, and adapt.

Conditions of Employment:

This is a full-time exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday – Friday or as directed by the supervisor to include travel to and from the Beatty, Nevada site or other areas as needed. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. As per operational requirements.

Travel Requirements: Per operational requirements

Compensation: Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000

Benefits:

  • The opportunity to make a real impact on local communities and shape the success of a major mining project.
