SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE OF ROLE:
The Human Resources Specialist will support and assist the Nevada Project site, including compliance with employment and related laws. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a desire to learn, and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead and collaborate with recruiting and hiring managers to understand talent needs, providing strategic guidance on sourcing, recruitment, and the selection of talent for key positions.
- Responsible for overseeing the New Hire On-Boarding process and assist with paperwork or systems completion.
- Manage I-9 Forms and ensure compliance
- Act as a liaison between HR functions and the rest of the organization to ensure alignment of benefits, policies, training, compensation, and recruitment efforts.
- Manage and resolve compiles employee relations issues related to misconduct, harassment or discrimination while ensuring fairness, compliance and confidentiality.
- Manage HRIS inputs and data integrity for all employee data changes.
- Support AngloGold HR initiative and projects to enhance organizational effectiveness for the Nevada Project.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Partner with managers on performance management processes including goal setting, performance reviews, feedback delivery, and addressing performance concerns.
- Conducts exit interviews below Manager level and supports leaders for transactional offboarding activities.
- Develop a knowledge of the organizational benefits with the ability to communicate plans to the workforce.
- Develop a skill base for HR systems (e.g. Success Factors).
- Leverage technology to deliver value and recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity and increase efficiencies across internal processes.
- Lead the hourly job description project as roles are built out for the Nevada Projects.
- Serve as main point of contact for domestic relocations
- Willing to learn and support the immigration process for candidates mobilizing to Nevada.
- Handle other associated HR related tasks as assigned to include projects where the responsibility will include: developing, leading, collaborating and/or assisting.
Technical Accountabilities:
- Basic knowledge of employment regulations (Federal and State).
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently.
- Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity and creativity to changing needs and situations.
Leadership & Management Competencies:
- Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities by taking initiative, accountability and responsibility.
Legal Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License to commute to and from the Beatty, NV site
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Psychology or related field required.
- Two (2) – Three (3) years in Human Resources or related field that may include any internship experience(s).
- Experience in mining, construction, manufacturing or related industry a plus.
REQUIRED GENERAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with MS Office Suite and related systems required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, and strong analytical skills.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Friday, 6:00am to 4:00 pm or if needed work Monday-Friday in the Las Vegas office (depending on project). Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. As per operational requirements.
COMPENSATION: Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000
