SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE OF ROLE:
This multifaceted role requires a combination of strong environmental expertise, regulatory specialization, critical thinking, and exceptional work ethic. The Environmental Superintendent will oversee and manage all environmental aspects of the Beatty Mining District. They will ensure compliance with environmental regulations, develop and implement environmental management programs, and work to minimize the impact of the mine's activities on the surrounding ecosystems. The successful candidate will navigate the project's complex regulatory and social landscape while actively supporting stakeholder engagement efforts and promoting sustainability governance.
Role accountabilities:
- Develop and implement robust environmental management plans to proactively mitigate and minimize the environmental impact of the open pit gold mine operations.
- Monitor compliance with all environmental laws, regulations, and permits and drive continuous improvement initiatives to raise environmental performance standards, and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
- Establish and maintain effective environmental monitoring programs to track and analyze air and water quality, ecological impact, and other critical environmental indicators.
- Implement and oversee environmental monitoring programs to track air and water quality, wildlife impact, and other environmental indicators.
- Lead the development and implementation of sustainable practices and technologies to minimize environmental impact.
- Work products must consistently meet or exceed expectations, and be delivered on time, with minimal supervision.
- Coordination of company subject-matter experts to address complex compliance issues
Technical Competencies:
- Knowledge of hard rock mining processes.
- Knowledge of the NEPA & Nevada permitting processes with emphasis on compliance.
- ArcGIS

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Biology, Ecology or related field with a specialization in environmental studies.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in managing environmental initiatives, habitat restoration and conservation
REQUIRED GENERAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- Regulatory expertise with a focus on environmental compliance and sustainable practices.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including exceptional public speaking skills.
- Commitment to the conservation and enhancement of the environment within the context of broader resource management.
- Ability to collaborate and cooperate with governmental agencies, company stakeholders, and county and community stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must demonstrate the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of people both inside and outside the Company in a professional manner
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5pm. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. As per operational requirements.
COMPENSATION:
Base Salary Range $130,000 -$150,000
