The Obuasi Redevelopment Project has attained its original project schedule to become a modern efficient processing and underground mechanized operation, and it is now moving to achieving study state operation with the final aim of achieving 5000 tonnes per day processing.

 

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as per the details below:

ROLE PURPOSE

 

The Engineering Shift Supervisor – Process Plant is accountable for executing tasked plant maintenance issues during the shift. This position will execute work tasks falling either day shift or night shift as per the scheduled roster, in a safe and compliant manner as instructed in maintenance of the Processing Plant. The Role Holder will also be responsible for managing the engineering team within the shift period.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assess risks for all tasks and ensure they are controlled before and during task execution.
  • Report all incidents and ensure they have been investigated and corrective actions completed on time.
  • Act on all corrective actions assigned to you or under your jurisdiction and ensure timely completion.
  • Adhere to site’s Environmental Management Plan.
  • Attend training, development and performance improvement training as required.
  • Work compliantly with the requirement of Government of Ghana Agencies, environmental, health & safety legislation and AGAG regulation.
  • Execute refurbishment and maintenance work items as tasked - compliant and in accordance with all relevant regulations from Government of Ghana and AGAG.
  • Identify sub-standard work practices, identify root cause and eliminate by corrective action.
  • Actively participate in maintenance review programmes and root cause failure analysis process of plant equipment as per requirements.
  • Use the systems for the maintenance department to provide effective planning of work, efficient and safe work practices, monitoring of performance and promote continuous improvement.
  • Monitor general physical condition of process plant assets during the shift and report.
  • Provide data and information to support the Maintenance Planner to close out work orders in SAP on completion of the tasked work for all process plant and equipment refurbishment and maintenance activities.
  • Identify, communicate, implement potential cost reduction initiatives/projects and execute works in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper shift handover is done within the team to support operation.
  • Communicate accurate and timely work progress reports on schedule delivery, progress, cost and quality information in the area of accountability.
  • Task direct reports in line with requirements for achieving the agreed production plan.
  • Stop equipment operation if there exists a high risk or unsafe to be used.
  • Identify, communicate, and implement potential cost reduction initiatives.
  • Execute work in a timely manner.
  • Identify sub-standard work practices, identify root cause and eliminate by corrective action.
  • Report directly to the Superintendents – Process Plant, on issues.

 

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum of Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technician Part III or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Trade with Seven (7+) years of experience in process plant maintenance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Maintenance Engineering, or Equivalent with Five (5+) years of experience in plant maintenance.
  • Excellent knowledge of conveyors, pumps, mills, and mixers in the process plant maintenance.
  • Familiarity with the Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health Safety and Technical) Regulation

 

Technical Competencies

  • Fully literate and numerate.
  • Good knowledge in mechanical, electrical or Instrumentation trade.
  • Ability to manage and supervise a team of engineers.
  • Knowledge in crane safe operation
  • Consistent with the company values.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Leadership and conflict-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of budgeting and performance management.
