Due to new Exploration drilling, we are now seeking an additional Exploration Geologist to join our committed and passionate team at our Butcher Well Exploration Site. The role is accountable to the Project Lead. This role is offered on a lifestyle 16 days on/12 days off FIFO roster, where we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.

 

This role is offered on a 24-month Fixed Term Contract.

 

Accountabilities

 

  • Maintaining a high standard of safety by complying with all relevant safety instructions, procedures and rules, and the duty of care for employees as legislated
  • Building and maintaining constructive relationships with AGAA staff and contractors
  • Daily management of underground drill rigs, including data validation and data entry
  • Mentoring of the Graduate and Exploration Geologists
  • High quality geological logging of diamond drill core
  • Design, coordination and management of drill programs from Blue Sky to Resource Definition
  • Management of short-term drill schedule
  • Interpretation and reporting of geological and geochemical results
  • Geological and ore domain modelling
  • Monitoring performance to plan of targets
  • Weekly and monthly reporting
  • Process and procedure improvements and updates
  • Support the Exploration Team in the discovery of resources to meet annual depletion of resource/reserves

 

About you

  • A relevant tertiary or postgraduate degree in Geology
  • Proven experience working in an exploration role
  • Knowledge of Geochemistry, structural geology, mapping, GIS, sampling, drilling, and Geophysical interpretation is required
  • Experience using 3D modelling software, with experience in Vulcan and Leapfrog highly regarded
  • Geological logging knowledge in diamond drill core and RC
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Permanent work rights in Australia
  • Current C class Manual Driver’s License
  • The ability to obtain a new National Police Clearance
  • Existing and ongoing permanent working rights in Australia (mandatory)
