Objective
To Coordinate and Lead project deliveries for the studies of the Geita Gold Mine (GGM) Tailing Storage Facility and Paste Plant projects and any other Major project in line with the life of mine operational strategy. The role holder will ensure that appropriate standards and quality are maintained during the study/Execution phase in accordance with guidelines and procedures.
To deliver multiple concurrent Major (project >$100M) and Medium (project >$10M & <$100M) project studies (concept, pre-feasibility & feasibility) for Geita mine that comply to the Company's standards, guidelines and investment criteria for both future TSF and alternatives to backfilling strategy,
Education & Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Mineral/Mining or Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Registered with an international project management association in either a project or program related
Technical Knowledge & Skills & Experience
- Ten years’ proven experience in managing large infrastructure type projects specifically in the concept evaluation and project justification roles.
- Registered with an international project management association in either a project or program related category.

- Advantages would include experience in TSF projects studies (>$100m)
Roles and Responsibilities
Delivery of multiple concurrent Major and Medium project studies (from Conceptual to Feasibility Stage) across the Group.
• Accountable for the quality of study deliverables and ensuring that all applicable Company standards and guidelines are met or exceeded by study teams.
• Ensuring that the appropriate range of options are included in study scopes. Review scope of works and scope management plans.
• Review, monitor and provide guidance to ensure the development of optimised project studies and scenarios that deliver the business requirements.
• Development and delivery of project charters for the study stages of all Major and Medium projects.
• Assist in determining priorities among project activities.
• Assist in the effective co-ordination of the activities of the study teams to meet project milestones.
Proactively identify changes in work scope and ensure appropriate planning measures are taken with the study and project managers
• Involve functional expertise and specialist staff in design reviews and key decisions.
• Maintain continuous alignment of project scopes with business objectives and make recommendations to modify the project to enhance effectiveness in achieving business results or strategic intent.
• Influence decisions based on understanding of the Company strategy and commercial drivers and contribute to the implementation strategy within the project.
• Guide the study team and project through the internal approval process through the technical and business evaluation process to achieve the necessary stage gate approvals.
• Review Management Investment Committee and Board submissions documentation.
• Collaborate and effectively manage project interfaces by leading and continuously collaborating with the appropriate internal stakeholders to align and maximize efforts for project delivery.
