Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in Denver, USA. AGA has operations in more than ten countries across four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 120 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. The company has its main office and operations in Geita, only 5 Km’s west of the fast-growing town of Geita, and a supporting office in Dar es Salaam. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Wheel Loader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of wheel loaders to support mining and production activities. The role ensures effective loading, hauling, stockpiling, and feeding of ore or waste material while adhering to safety, environmental, and operational standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of Secondary School Education and possess the relevant certificate.
• The incumbent must have a valid Tanzanian driving license, holding Class F or G will be an added advantage.
• Candidates will be subjected to a practical test as part of the interview process.

EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of 2-5 years of working experience in Mining or related field.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven ability to operate and maintain wheel loaders safely in mining operations.
• Good knowledge of mining regulations and hazard awareness.
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
• Basic equipment inspection and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physical stamina and endurance to work long hours under demanding conditions.
• Good communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Effective time management, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Take reasonable care for own health and safety and that of others during operations.
• Actively promote and adhere to safety standards, procedures, and practices.
• Conduct pre-start safety checks on the wheel loader before operation.
• Report equipment faults promptly to the supervisor and maintenance team.
• Operate the wheel loader in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Load, haul, and stockpile ore and waste materials safely and efficiently.
• Optimize efficiency by minimizing spotting, maneuvering, dumping, and refueling times.
• Coordinate with haul truck drivers, excavator operators, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Operate modular or integrated systems in line with operational standards.
• Respond promptly to dispatch and supervisor instructions.
• Always follow lawful production and operational instructions.
