PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Provide support to the Hydrogeology team in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of hydrogeological data from both open pit and underground operations to meet mining objectives. This role will be responsible for managing hydrogeological activities across all operational sites. Additionally, offer recommendations to hydrogeology management on daily operational improvements to ensure alignment with the company’s goals and core values.

 

            QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or hydrogeology from any recognized university.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in mining operations (both open pit and underground), with a fundamental background in hydrogeology. Must be capable of interpreting geophysical data, supervising drilling activities (RC), conducting rock chip and core logging, and demonstrating strong report writing skills. The role also involves overseeing hydro drilling projects.

 

            MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Hydrogeological field data capturing, analysis and interpretation, reporting on the data collected and projects completed.
  • Understanding the application of geophysics data in hydrogeology field
  • Perform field activities in a safe and sustainable manner, in accordance with the HSE requirements/standards.
  • Ensure high quality hydro data collection and other appropriate quality analysis and control procedures are followed, including reviewing reported data.
  • To assist in conducting hydro-drilling supervision, to achieve all hydrogeology works in time and within budget allocated.
  • Comply with all applicable AGA policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the security of all samples and analytical results and ensure confidentiality of all company information.
  • Always, act in accordance with AGA’s values.
  • Demonstrate a consistent work behavior within the company Values and work within prescribed boundaries, including required behavior, company policies, standards, procedures, and legislation requirements.
  • Disclosing timely information to supervisor/manager when accountability cannot be met within limits or can be met with less time or resources than planned.
  • Demonstrating good teamwork in collaborating with others in pursuing safety goals including understanding, identifying, and addressing safety hazards and associated risks.
  • Seeking opportunities for learning to improve safety performance.

 

            ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess valid driving license.
  • Strong in using Microsoft word, PowerPoint, and excel.
  • Having background in using Arc GIS software or any hydrogeological software.
  • Should be able to understand and interpret hydrogeological data.
  • Understand pump performances and efficiencies.
  • Demonstrate the ability and principle of borehole and piezometer drilling.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team with minimal supervision.
