Job Purpose
The Project Lead – IFRS to US GAAP Transition will oversee and manage the end-to-end process of converting the company’s financial reporting framework from International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). The role will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, timely delivery of accurate financial statements, and alignment of accounting policies and processes with US GAAP.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the IFRS to US GAAP conversion project.
- Review gap quantifications between IFRS and US GAAP reporting requirements.
- Manage the project plan including timelines, milestones, resource requirements, and risk management.
- Engage and coordinate with internal finance teams, external auditors, and consultants to ensure smooth transition.
- Review and update accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to align with US GAAP.
- Identify and manage technical accounting challenges.
- Oversee the preparation of US GAAP-compliant financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedules.
- Manage and deliver training programs to finance and accounting staff on US GAAP principles and reporting requirements.
- Monitor project progress, prepare status reports for senior management, and escalate issues as needed.
- Ensure all statutory, regulatory, and internal reporting requirements under US GAAP are met.
Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA, CPA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Strong technical knowledge of both IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or auditing, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Previous experience leading accounting transformation projects or reporting standard conversions is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, corporate governance, and audit processes.
