About the Role
Key Responsibilities
Field Program Execution & Supervision
- Ensure all field preparations and on‑ground requirements are completed before exploration programs begin.
- Supervise AGA contractors and day‑to‑day activities of Geotechnicians to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality work.
- Oversee fly camps, field logistics, and sampling operations.
- Verify sampling quality and best practices, including QA/QC monitoring and sample transport.
- Maintain safe work practices and support rehabilitation of disturbed areas as required.
Drilling & Sampling Support
- Assist with drill program preparation and coordination.
- Support geological tasks including sample collection, core handling, geotechnical logging, sample prep, and dispatch.
- Manage sample and drill core storage, inventory, and organization at warehouse and external facilities.
Logistics & Operational Support
- Plan and manage field logistics, ensuring adequate supplies, consumables, and equipment availability.
- Manage vehicle fleet scheduling, maintenance, fuel cards, and usage for field operations.
- Coordinate with contractors to implement field programs safely and according to plan.
- Assist with data management, documentation, and organization of exploration records.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
- Apply effective risk controls and ensure all activities align with company safety standards.
- Promote a positive safety culture and contribute to team‑wide safety leadership.
- Ensure all tasks comply with approved work programs and exploration requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- First Aid certification (or ability to obtain after hire).
- 4–10 years of exploration field experience.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Experience managing exploration programs and leading field teams.
- Proficiency operating and maintaining 4WD vehicles.
- Working knowledge of exploration field techniques (mapping, sampling, core handling).
- Ability to work extended field rotations.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and familiarity with acQuire preferred.
- Strong hazard and risk management skills.
- Experience supervising contractors.
- Strong awareness of safety, environmental, and community expectations.
- Ability to work independently within established procedures and guidelines.
- Builds positive team culture and can act as both a peer leader and mentor.
- Strong communicator who collaborates well with multidisciplinary teams.
Position Type / Work Schedule
This is a full‑time, predominantly field‑based role.
Standard rotation: 18 days on / 10 days off, typically with 12‑hour field days.
Rotations may vary based on seasonal, office‑based, or project requirements.
Travel Requirements
Travel as required based on exploration program locations and operational needs.
