Specialist, Project Geologist, Greenfields Exploration, North America

As a Specialist, Project Geologist specializing in greenfields exploration, you will be responsible for executing detailed geological, geochemical, and drill testing campaigns. You will interpret complex datasets to inform strategic decisions, working closely with senior geologists and exploration managers to ensure that exploration activities are carefully planned, effectively managed, and executed with safety and sustainability as priorities. Your expertise enhances our ability to uncover valuable mineral resources while upholding AngloGold Ashanti's standards and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out exploration activities including geological mapping, geochemical sampling programs, and drill testing of targets.
• Provide interpretations derived from the datasets collected and provide recommendations aligned with company objectives and strategies.
• Work closely with peers and assist the Senior Geologist and Exploration Manager to plan and schedule fieldwork efficiently, ensuring alignment with safety protocols and project timelines.
• Prepare timely, accurate, and detailed reports, maps, plans and sections.
• Supervise the work of contractors and other personnel in the field, fostering a culture of safety, sustainability, and operational excellence while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in project appraisals, by critically assessing data quality and accuracy, providing objective assessments of exploration potential to support investment decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

• BSc or higher (preferred) in a Geoscience-related degree.        
• Valid driver’s license and proficiency in operating 4WD vehicles.        
• First aid required but can be undertaken after employment.
• A minimum of 2+ years of experience in exploration and within the gold sector preferred.                
• Additional experience and/or education in porphyry, epithermal, and/or carlin style mineralization is preferred.
• Eligibility to work in the USA.          
• Able to pass both medical and drug test screening as required by AGA policies.
