JOB TITLE : Manager: Speak-up & Investigation

LOCATION : Johannesburg

Vice President Group Compliance

 

ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

Lead the management and investigation of whistleblowing cases, ensuring timely resolution, strong governance, and alignment with AngloGold Ashanti’s compliance framework and values.

 

WORK ACCOUNTABILITIES 

 

  • Maintenance of Whistleblowing cases
  • Monthly Reconciliation on the cases reported for the month versus the cases closed for the month
  • Weekly Reporting to management on status of cases
  • Perform Whistleblowing investigations in instances where cases are of a highly sensitive nature and cannot be allocated to a Departmental Investigator.
  • Ensure Communications are done timeously and accurately, in line with Statutory and Company requirements
  • Maintain a register of all Whistleblowing tests performed
  • Facilitate Regional Audit and Assurance meetings and assess whether controls are being maintained and met.
  • Prepare the quarterly Board Audit Committee, Regional Audit Committee and other requested reports
  • Perform a consultative role to the business on governance and controls.
  • Create awareness around the Whistleblowing process, including developing and providing training, where necessary.
  • Foster and maintain a solid working relationship with Third Party vendors.
  • Partner with Regional Offices in instances where cases are outside of the Corporate Office.
  • Provide a quality and value adding service, whilst maintaining sound professional relationships with clients.
  • Establish and build client relationships with allocated function heads and departmental designated investigators, with the view of achieving finalisation of Whistleblowing cases.
  • Create working papers and reports adhering to the Group and Statutory requirements and standards.
  • Conduct Compliance reviews, when required.
  • Apply/adhere to organisational procedures and Legislative requirements
  • Have knowledge on the application of ethical conduct and compliance with corporate governance, principles and social responsibility
  • Honour Anonymity requests
  • Support the Compliance Department in achieving departmental goals and tasks
  • Participate in Departmental projects and initiatives

 

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

 

Education & Qualifications

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree 

Technical Knowledge, Skills & Experience  

  • Whistleblowing management and investigations
  • Previous experience with Navex would be an advantage
  • Mining industry knowledge would be an advantage
  • Computer Literacy
  • Good project management skills
  • Basic Risk Management Awareness
