Join Société AngloGold Ashanti as Manager, Security Projects at Siguiri Mine

We invite you to take on the critical role of Security Project Manager – Block 3, where your expertise will directly support the safe and uninterrupted development of one of our key mining projects. Located within the Security Operational PITS and Heap Leach department and reporting under the Security division, this role operates in a highly complex and high-risk environment requiring a strategic and hands-on approach to security management.

About the Role

As Manager, Security Projects for Block 3, you will spearhead the implementation of a comprehensive security plan that addresses a diverse range of threats including illegal mining, organized crime, insurgent activity, and terrorism. Your leadership will be central in establishing and maintaining a secure operational framework that safeguards all personnel, contractors, and infrastructure associated with the Block 3 project, ensuring business continuity and adherence to operational, legal, and community standards.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

• Leading the design and rollout of a dynamic security architecture tailored to the phased expansion and unique regional risks of the Block 3 mining project.
• Developing and executing proactive counterinsurgency and counter-terrorism strategies, working closely with national security services to detect and mitigate extremist threats.
• Conducting thorough risk assessments and managing security challenges inherent to remote, high-threat environments with contingency planning for scenarios such as armed robbery, kidnapping, and sabotage.
• Building collaborative partnerships with public security forces including military, police, and border units to secure vulnerable access points, particularly along the Mali border.
• Leading vulnerability mapping initiatives for the Block 3 perimeter and adjoining transnational routes to identify and neutralize critical exposure points.
• Establishing and managing intelligence networks that deliver timely, actionable information on criminal activities and insurgent movement to inform operational decisions.
• Developing and maintaining layered protection protocols that ensure safe mobility, site security, and operational continuity.
• Ensuring compliance with all internal security policies and external regulatory requirements by maintaining detailed incident records, preparing thorough risk reports, and providing clear security briefings for project leadership.
• Coordinating security projects in collaboration with contractors, engineers, local authorities, and internal departments to ensure timely execution and approvals.
• Managing team performance, promoting leadership practices, and fostering a values-based culture aligned with AngloGold Ashanti’s safety vision and values.
• Overseeing budget forecasts, identifying cost-saving initiatives, and monitoring overtime to optimize resource utilization.
• Championing community engagement and social responsibility initiatives, advancing AngloGold Ashanti’s commitment to positively impact local communities.

Who You Are

You hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Security, Project Management, or Risk Management, with fluency in both English and French, vital for effective communication within our multicultural environment.

Your extensive experience, spanning 5 to 10 years, encompasses security and asset protection within hostile and complex settings. You possess proven expertise in developing security architectures, collaborating with public security forces, and managing risks related to border security and criminal networks.

Physical fitness and the ability to pass medical and pre-employment screenings are essential, as is having a valid driver’s license for operating company vehicles.

Your excellent communication skills, proactive mindset, and capacity to establish robust information networks empower you to lead with confidence and influence.
