We are currently inviting Expressions of Interest from experienced Open Pit Mine Surveyors with strong technical capability to join our Surveying team at Sunrise Dam.

This is a permanent position operating on an 8/6 roster, with flights provided to Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.

Reporting to the Superintendent: Mine Surveying, the role is responsible for coordinating and delivering all surface survey data and services required to support the operation. This includes ensuring surveying activities are carried out safely, accurately, and within required timeframes to support production and planning outcomes.

This opportunity is well suited to professionals who are technically strong, safety-focused, and experienced in open pit mining environments.

Accountabilities 
 

  • Provide regular updated spatial data as the mine advances to be used to contribute to accurate development of budgets
  • On-going execution of all surveying services for the implementation of weekly plan with minimal impedance to mining process.
  • Contribute to the building and maintenance of organizational capability (people & processes) for the surveying team.
  • Provide a safe work environment, implement and deliver compliance with SHE&C plans, management systems and processes within surveying
  • Work with colleagues at Tropicana Gold Mine, Sunrise Dam Gold Mine, external contractors and the Australian Regional unit, to maximise organisational value.

 
About you

Along with these expectations the ideal candidate would ideally possess: 
 

  • A degree or advanced diploma in mine surveying

  • Two or more years working experience in open pit mining preferred.

  • Experience with both underground and surface remotely piloted aircraft systems preferred.

  • Authorised mine surveyors certificate (grade 1) or working towards this is preferred

  • High level of computer proficiency with extensive experience with surveying software, Deswik & MDM preferred

  • Highly collaborative communication skills.

  • High level planning and organisation skills.

  • Manual driver’s licence and 4WD capable

  • A National Police Clearance

  • Existing and ongoing Permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory)
