Reporting to the VP Technical Services, the Director Open Pit Mining, develops robust life-of-mine plans for each of the Australian Region's Open Pit assets. Identify and communicate key constraints to delivery of the mine plan and evaluate sustainable options for improvement
Key responsibilities include leading the development and optimisation of Life-of-Mine (LOM) Open Pit asset strategies, driving value creation and continuous improvement, ensuring alignment of physical and cost profiles, delivering business planning and study outcomes, developing effective planning systems and processes, building organisational capability, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About You
People are at the heart of everything we do. We want you to collaborate with us, share your ideas and feel confident in challenging the status quo. To be considered, you will demonstrate:
- A degree qualification in a relevant mining-related discipline or other.
- A minimum of fifteen years’ experience in the industry with demonstrated experience working on Open Pit gold mining projects.
- Strong analytical skills, combined with high attention to detail and the ability to proactively identify impacts, issues and opportunities.
- Experience using mining packages essential.
- Familiarity with Vulcan, Surpac, Whittle, Alastri, MineMax highly desirable.
- Exposure to first principles cost modelling
- Strong background in financial analysis
- A capacity in financial decision making and Risk Management
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with people at all levels within the organisation.
- The ability to obtain National Police Clearance.
- Have existing and ongoing valid Australian working rights (Mandatory).
- Based in Perth and able to travel to the mine sites on a regular basis.
