The Principal: Mobile Assets is responsible for providing oversight and support of the Mining Contractor heavy mobile equipment (HME) Workshop, Pit Maintenance and Light Vehicles ensuring the strategic maintenance and efficient operation of HME & LVs. This position is accountable to the Director: Asset Management with the role being offered on a variant of a 4/3 FIFO roster from Perth, with time being spent at both sites and in the Perth office.
Accountabilities:
- To provide s long-term planning, and stakeholder collaboration to minimise downtime and maximise productivity, while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. Where gaps are evident this role plays an active part in working towards resolving gaps within our contract partners or internally with AGA.
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained according to the equipment management strategy, optimising for full cost of ownership, and maintaining equipment reliability and efficiency. The principal also coordinates with other departments for seamless operations, monitors, and engages as required, supply and logistics to minimise downtime, and champions continuous improvement initiatives (FAP) and the work management process with contractors. Is an integral member of the Alliance Management teams across both sites
- Provide assurance and compliance to standards. The role will also be the point of contact to Group Supply Chain with any HME related initiatives and would be the Regional Major Hazard owner for HME and lead any HME/workshop related ICAM’s.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and collaboration across departments and with suppliers
- Ensure that the discipline functions as the centre of excellence and the custodian of all matters relating mobile equipment within the asset management discipline.
About You

- Mechanical or Electrical or post-graduate in Asset Management, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in a core engineering discipline is desirable.
- At least 10 years Asset / HME management experience.
- Strong track record of success at specialist level in the mining industry working within the surface and underground mobile assets (HME) field.
- Deep level understanding of planning and maintenance of mobile equipment to ensure Integrity over the life of mine.
- At least 5 years relevant operational experience on a mine site related to mobile mining equipment. Relevant Mine/Site based experience is crucial
- Strong analytical skills, combined with high attention to detail and the ability to proactively identify impacts, issues and opportunities.
- Strong influential, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, to effectively convey the above to the team, as well as the implications of decisions made.
- Ability to juggle competing demands and work as a team player in a dynamic and results-based environment.
- Have a passion for coaching and mentoring others, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Able to attain a new National Police Clearance
- Existing and ongoing Permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory)
